Dev Channel Update: 0.10.156.30

Thanks to Chrome Notebook Pilot group user 7HM0M5OM for pointing at that Google pushed out a new Dev Channel update tonight. No word on changes but I have confirmed that the audio mute issue and the repeated OOBE "Let's Get Started" message error issues have not been fixed yet.

Let us know what you notice about 0.10.156.30 in the comments...

  1. just updated to 156.30 on my fish. i have never encountered the audio mute bug, but i will point out that the first (and only significant) thing i've noticed is that flash 10.1 no longer appears under about:plugins; previously, i was running both 10.1 and 10.2, and had some issues with a few things being broken (namely, could not load the webcam in facebook, and could not use certain file uploading interfaces that were flash-based). i am no longer experiencing those problems. haven't noticed anything else, either.

  3. I've had the mute issue a few times now (may have all been on 0.10.156.20, I forget). I'm unsure if anyone else has already said this, yet for me, doing a hard shut down (holding down the power button while the browser is open) fixes the mute issue.

On the other hand, I do get the "Let's Get Started" message, upon reboot. The upshot is that I get a new user picture, whenever it happens . . . and I think that's the worst (or best?) of it.

  4. I actually had the mute problem as well as the "let's get started", but they've only happened once each, and have been working normally again. Not sure what I did though...

  6. Quick update: I officially had the mute issue on 0.10.156.30, this morning. I hard powered off two or three times and it resolved (absent new user photo, etc.).

  7. updated last night when I saw the little green arrow on the wrench icon. first thing I did was test to see if the 3-button mute bug had been fixed. I pushed volume up and the mute display came up on screen. Haha. all I could do was laugh and move on to the next bug I had. The OOBE (took me awhile to figure out what you were talking about here) was definitely still there. :( I guess a little update is better than no update at all though. :) thanks for the blog.

  8. Hmmm. I just updated to 0.10.156.30 and I do not experience any mute button or OOBE issues lie you describe. Actually, I didn't have them before.

I'm NOT running in dev mode, but am on the dev channel. Are the rest of you running in dev mode?
